POPI Awareness Training

Regulation 4 of POPI says I must provide my staff with internal awareness training on POPI. Can you help me with that?

What is this all about?

Regulation 4 says that an information officer must “ensure that-internal awareness sessions are conducted regarding the provisions of the Act, regulations made in terms of the Act, codes of conduct, or information obtained from the Regulator.”

You can conduct these sessions yourself. There is no mandate to get “professional” training. We argue that it’s more effective to include clear instructions on your policies and procedures designed to implement POPI.

But while POPI is new, we appreciate that it’s difficult to conduct a session like this unaided, so we can offer you online Awareness Training classes for up to 80 attendees. We can tailor those sessions for Financial Services, Healthcare and NGOs.
